2001: researcher at University of Naples “Federico II” (SSDBiochemistry). From 2001 to date: Professor of courses of Biochemistry. 2018 she achieved the national scientific qualification for Associated professor (SSD General Biochemistry). She carried out research on the biochemical and molecular characterization of both the biosynthetic pathways of isoleucine, leucine, valine in E. coli (1984-1986) and histidine in Streptomyces coelicolor A3 (1987- 1991). She was also involved in the study of mechanisms of transcriptional control in E. coli, Salmonella typhimurium and Neisseria gonorrhoeae(1992-1997). From1997 to date her studies are focused on basic and applied research in following fields: i) Biochemical and molecular studies of proteins and enzymes in hyperthermophilic archaea and bacteria. ii) Studies of molecular mechanisms involved in environmental stresses (oxidative and heavy metals stresses) in the hypertemophilic archeon Saccharolobus solfataricus and the thermophilic bacterium Thermus thermophilus. iii) Characterization of new glycoside hydrolases from thermophilic sources for the conversion of lignocellulosic biomass.
