Professor of Solid Waste Treatment and Disposal, and of Soil Remediation, at the University of Naples Federico II (Italy). Coordinator of the BS and MS Degree in Environmental Engineering at the same University. Visiting Professor at the University of Washington (WA, USA) in 2007 and 2012-2013. Visiting professor at the Sichuan University (China) from 2014 to 2019. Recipient of the Endowed Professorship assigned by the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of the University of Washington in 2012. Winner of the Fulbright Research Scholarship for his work on disinfection by-products monitoring and evaluation of their transport and fate in natural compartments. His research work is mainly focused on circular economy, agro-industrial waste mining, waste to energy, ecofriendly solutions for contaminated soil restoration.
