Full professor of Agricultural Economics and Policy, at the University of Palermo (Italy). He has held numerous teaching, scientific and organizational positions. He is Member of the Italian Society of Agricultural Economics, Italian Society of Agri-food Economics, Center for Studies in Valuation and Land Economics. He is Member of the Directive of the GRAB-IT, of the Center of Studies and Initiatives of Economic Policy in Sicily, and from 2010 he is Member of the International Scientific Council for Island Development Agency, UNESCO, Italy Section. He has participated in numerous national and community research programs and he has been Scientific Coordinator of several research projects. From 2019 he is member of the Agroecology and Organic farming Working Group at the Department of Agriculture, Rural Development and Mediterranean Fishing of Sicilian Region. The research activity has produced over 180 scientific publications.
